As reminder to previous reviewer – Screws do needed and they are included, check the bag with the rubber legs carefully.
In general, this is cheap but overall quality product, works fine, and power seems to be enough with most laptops I’ve tested. My only complain is about big sized USB connector at the drive side. It easilly can be MiniUSB type, and that will save a lot of space in the bag, since MiniUSB is more comonnly used so there is a bigger chances that typical user already has such cable, so no need for carrying extra cables around.

This external enclosure is using USB 2.0 and is backward compatible with USB 1.1. Most Pentium II, Pentium III and early Pentium IV laptops and computers have USB 1.1. It can be powered by USB 2.0. Some USB 1.1 ports do not have power and you have to use the keyboard connector to draw power(cable is provided). In most cases you can use both cables to draw enough power to run this drive properly especially when using it to write cdroms or dvdroms.
